Baby & Toddler
Little Fishes Baby and Toddler Group
Our parent/carer and baby/toddler group meets in the main church on a Tuesday morning from 10am-12pm during term time. A cup of tea or coffee, home baking and a warm welcome awaits any who would wish to come along. We have baby changing and feeding facilities. The group is very supportive with the leaders only too happy to hold a baby or watch a toddler to allow their carer to finish a hot cup of tea in peace!
Sunday School & Creche
We are delighted to welcome children and young people of all ages along to our church!
Information about Sunday School & creche can be found on our Visit page.
Groups & Clubs for Kids (P1-P7)
Holiday Club
Each summer we run a weeklong Holiday club for primary aged children, comprising songs, games, crafts, dramas, and Bible teaching. We have had various themes like wild west, superheroes, the circus, and the Olympics. We also recently branched out and did some holiday club outreach to teens with activities like beach games with BBQ and movie nights with Biblical talks.
JaM
JaM stands for Jesus and Me and is a fun group for children aged P1-P4 on a Friday afternoon from 1.45-3.15pm. Kids are collected from school and walked up to the church where they take part in games, play, crafts, songs, and Bible teaching. It is a lively group who enjoy time together! All children of the appropriate age range will be very welcome.
Connect
Is a youth club for children aged P5-P7 and takes place from 3.45-5.15pm on a Friday afternoon. There is table tennis, pool, Wii games, football, crafts, and a tuck shop. We sometimes have visitors who teach us how to do new crafts, like Johan who showed us how to decoupage or Dona who showed us how to do a resin pour canvas. We also filled 50 shoeboxes for Blythswood and took part in the light up a life campaign. Occasionally we go on trips to do fun things like ice skating. We always have a slot for one of the leaders to do a talk about a theme from the Bible. Any kids of the appropriate age would be very welcome.
Groups for Young People (S1-S6)
Rooted
Rooted is our club for all young ones in S1-S6 and meet every Friday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We have table tennis, pool and football on the go with time to just relax and enjoy fellowship together. Each term we focus on a particular topic from God’s word and spend some time each Friday evening sharing this.
We’ve also spent time together ice-skating and when the weather permits, going to the beautiful beaches of Harris to play games and hear testimonies from other Christians.
Rooted (Digging Deeper)
On the first Sunday of each month, we invite the Rooted group to the church at 7:30pm. This allows us to dig deeper into God’s word and learn from short messages each week at Rooted.
It’s our prayer that the young ones would be rooted in God’s word, and as it says in Colossians 2:7, we pray this would be the truth of our youth in North Harris.
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
Colossians 2:6-7
Community Lunches
We have a community lunch once a month on the Second Tuesday of the month in the church. These allow a chance for a get together and a catch up over a lunch of soup, bread, and baking. The lunch is free, but there is an opportunity to donate to a local charity, usually Crossroads Harris.
These are currently on hold due to Covid.
Women's Bible Study
Ladies’ Fellowship groups meet on a Monday night at 8pm. We have two groups, one for ladies from the Bays area and another for ladies in the Tarbert/Scalpay area.
Fellowships vary throughout the year within depth Bible studies, testimonies, talks and fellowship nights. The regional groups meet three weeks of the month and in the first week of each month the groups meet together for a time of fellowship.
All ladies would be most welcome, speak to Lucy Toor to be guided to the appropriate group.
